The warming ones are usually preferred for pumping but can also be used for nursing, it comes as a set of two pads. The regular massager has a more ergonomic design and is better for working into the breast and massaging out clogs. If you are used to being more hands on and get clogs frequently, it might be a good option to get the original one or consider getting both. However the non warming one makes it easier to work into the breast and move out the clogs. Whereas the warming ones are usually recommended for pumping and can help as a first line of defense. You can use the rounded edge of the warmers though to scoop the milk forward if you do need some compression. If you are mostly pumping we would recommend the warming massagers. Some of our moms have both and use them for different purposes.

The easy way to unlock the massager is to charge it. Once it is charging the lock feature is disabled automatically. Then you can press and hold the center circle button for 3 seconds to turn the massager on. Just make sure the charge cable is removed before trying to turn on.
If you would like to use the travel lock feature in general. all you do is press and hold the up and down button together for at least 3 seconds. The light will blink two times and that will let you know that it's set. To lock and unlock you do the same method.
